Privacy policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Cloud Institute Canada (“we”, “us”) provides online Cloud/FinOps training at cloudinstitute.ca. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
Cloud Institute Canada Inc. is responsible for the protection of personal information at Cloud Institute Canada. For any question about this policy, or to exercise the rights described below, contact: privacy@cloudinstitute.ca.
What we collect, and why
When you request our free guide or take our free practice test, we collect your first name and email address. We use them to send you the material you asked for and, if you consented, occasional emails about FinOps and our courses.
When you request team training, we also collect your company name and, if you provide it, your phone number. We use these to prepare a proposal and contact you about it.
When you buy a course, we collect the information needed to process the purchase and give you access. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and are never stored by us.
When you use our site, we collect limited technical information through analytics: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived. This is used to understand which content is useful.
Practice test and simulator answers are stored in your own browser so your results can be shown back to you. We do not transmit your individual answers to our servers.
Legal basis and consent
We collect this information with your consent, given when you submit a form, or because it is necessary to provide a service you have purchased. You may withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email, or by contacting us.
Who else sees it
We use service providers who process personal information on our behalf:
- systeme.io — website, email, courses and customer records (France / European Union)
- Google Analytics and Google Search Console — site measurement (United States)
- n8n, self-hosted — internal workflow automation (Boston, USA)
- Telegram — internal notifications to our team only; your name, email and company may appear in an internal alert message
- Stripe — payment processing
This means your personal information may be stored or processed outside Québec and outside Canada, including in the European Union and the United States. Laws in those jurisdictions may differ from those in Québec.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep contact information for as long as you remain subscribed, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Purchase records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to those obligations.
Your rights
Under Québec law you may:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent to its use for marketing;
- ask for its deletion, where we are not required to keep it;
- receive it in a portable format, where applicable;
- complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec if you believe your rights have not been respected.
To exercise any of these, write to privacy@cloudinstitute.ca. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our site uses:
- Necessary cookies, which make the site and your course access work. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics), which tell us how the site is used.
- Local browser storage, which remembers your practice test and simulator results on your own device.
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. Refusing analytics cookies does not affect your access to the site or your courses.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect personal information, and we rely on established providers who maintain their own safeguards. No online service can promise perfect security. If a confidentiality incident occurs that presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify affected individuals and the Commission d’accès à l’information as required by law.
Children
Our courses and materials are intended for working professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 14.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be communicated by email to subscribers.
Terms of sale
Last updated: October 30, 2026
These terms apply to purchases made on cloudinstitute.ca from Cloud Institute Canada.
What you are buying
Our courses are digital products: pre-recorded video lessons, written materials, practice tests and exam simulators, delivered online through our course platform. Nothing physical is shipped.
Access is granted to the individual who purchases. Unless you have bought a team licence, your access is personal and non-transferable. You may not share your login, redistribute the materials, or reproduce them for others.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown on each course page in USD and may change at any time. The price you pay is the one displayed at the moment of purchase. Applicable taxes are added where required.
Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
Access
Access is granted immediately after payment is confirmed, by email, to the address you provided. If you do not receive access within a few hours, contact support@cloudinstitute.ca and we will resolve it.
Where a course is described as including lifetime access, this means access for as long as we continue to operate the course. If we ever discontinue a course, we will give reasonable notice and allow you to download the materials available for download.
Cancellation and refunds
Because our courses are digital and access is granted immediately, purchases are final once access has been given, except where Québec consumer protection law provides otherwise.
If something is wrong, you cannot access what you paid for, the content is not what was described, or you were charged in error, contact support@cloudinstitute.ca and we will put it right.
What we do not promise
Our courses prepare you for FinOps certification exams. We cannot and do not guarantee that you will pass any exam. Exam outcomes depend on your own preparation, and exam content and format are set by the certifying body, not by us.
Our materials are educational. They are not financial, legal or professional advice for your specific situation.
Your conduct
You agree not to share your access, copy or resell our materials, attempt to disrupt the service, or use it unlawfully. We may suspend access where these terms are seriously breached.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the laws of Canada applicable there.

Independence from the FinOps Foundation
Cloud Institute Canada is an independent training provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or certified by the FinOps Foundation or the Linux Foundation.
“FinOps Certified Practitioner”, “FinOps Certified Engineer”, “FinOps Framework” and related names and marks are the property of their respective owners. We refer to them only to describe what our training prepares you for.
Our courses do not grant any certification. Certification is awarded solely by the certifying body, through its own examination, purchased separately from that body.

The practice test and exam simulator questions on this site are original material written by Cloud Institute Canada in the style of the exam. They are not taken from, copied from, or reproduced from any real certification exam. Any resemblance to a real exam question is coincidental.
Accuracy
Exam formats, fees, pass marks and framework content change over time. We make reasonable efforts to keep our material current, but you should always confirm current exam details directly with the certifying body before booking.
No professional advice
Content on this site is general educational material about cloud financial management. It is not advice for your organisation’s specific circumstances, and it is not financial, accounting, legal or tax advice.
